Pres Trump held a presser today with Australian PM where he discussed the rebuilding and strength of the US military, citing success in the middle east taking out the islamic caliphate. In that victory a number of ISIS fighters have been captured who came from various countries in Europe, whom Trump pointed out do not want to take back!
“We’re asking them [European countries of origin] to take back these prisoners of war, and they can try them, do what they want. So far they’ve refused and at some point I’m going to have to say ‘I’m sorry but you either to take them back or we’re going to let them go at your border…'”.
“… The United States is not going to have thousands and thousands of people that we’ve captured stationed at Guantanamo Bay, held captive at Guantanamo Bay for the next 50 years and us spending billions and billions of dollars. We’ve done Europe a tremendous favor, they mostly come out of Europe, and we’ve done them a tremendous favor and the United States is not going to pay the cost of thousands and thousands of ISIS fighter prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, or someplace else. We won’t do it, so they have to make their decision, otherwise we’re releasing them at the border.”
Nations expect the US to be the police of the world and to foot the bill. Trump isn’t having it these countries are going to have to take these fighters back, jail them on their own dime, otherwise Trump will leave them at their border and they’ll have to capture them again! There’s no reason for US taxpayers to carry the burden of jailing German, British, Swedish whatever terrorists. The US took down the caliphate, the least these countries can do is jail the ISIS monsters themselves!
