When Obama entered office in January 2009 there were 31,939,110<\/a>Americans receiving food stamps. As of November 2012\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthe most recent data available\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthere were 47,692,896<\/a> <\/a>Americans enrolled, an increase of 49.3 percent.<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> the 2011 census, Spain had a population of 46,815,916.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, between January 2009 and November 2012 the food stamp program added approximately an average 11,269 recipients per day.<\/p>\n
