They began to disperse when police arrived.<\/p>\n<p>The shoplifters &#8212; described as teens and young adults &#8212; took items including snacks and drinks, police said<\/p>\n<p>Police stopped a group of six people ages 16-18 near Tech Road and Broadbirch Drive. Each had items from the 7-Eleven but no receipts, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives are investigating whether the shoplifters had attended a birthday party in the area, police said.<\/p>\n<p>In August, a flash mob of dozens of young people entered a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcwashington.com\/news\/local\/Flash-Mob-Robbery-127726853.html\" target=\"_blank\">7-Eleven in Germantown<\/a> and took items without paying, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Flash mob crime in the county has prompted lawmakers to consider <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcwashington.com\/news\/local\/Lawmakers-Examine-Anti-Loitering-Bill--133868238.html\" target=\"_blank\">teen loitering<\/a> legislation and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcwashington.com\/news\/local\/Vote-on-Montgomery-County-Curfew-Likely-in-November-129787883.html\" target=\"_blank\">teen curfew<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information about the case should call Montgomery County police at 301-565-5835.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flash Mob Shoplifts at Silver Spring 7-Eleven | NBC Washington About 50 people simultaneously shoplifted from a Silver Spring, Md., 7-Eleven Saturday night.
