Since when is wanting small government, fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, being for capitalism and free markets and most of all following the rule of law aka The Constitution radical? It is only radical to those threatened by these principles. Congress, law enforcement and our military take an oath to support and defend the Constitution and this nation, yet we have individuals from the White House down giving out orders that IMO violate that oath!<\/p>\n

I will ask the question I have asked a million times to those of you in law enforcement and the military (active & retired):<\/p>\n

When the time<\/em> comes( and you know what I mean) will you be an honorable person standing by your oath to the Constitution and this nation?<\/p>\n

OR<\/p>\n

Will you be an automaton following orders, protecting your job\/ career but violating your honor and oath?<\/p>\n

\"\"… During my two deployments to Iraq, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t Tread on Me\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was a phrase seen on nearly every uniform and platoon space \u00e2\u20ac\u201d including mine. From patches to flags to large paintings on concrete barriers, our commanders themselves wore the insignia on their sleeves \u00e2\u20ac\u201d until now.<\/p>\n

Perhaps this is why so many of my former teammates felt compelled to send me the email below. They may not be able to expose the administration\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s travesty, but I can. The email, dated October 22, reads:<\/p>\n

ALL:
\nWARCOM and GROUP TWO\/ONE have pushed out the uniform policy for NWU III and any patches worn on the sleeve.
\nAll personnel are only authorized to wear the matching \u00e2\u20ac\u0153AOR\u00e2\u20ac\u009d American Flag patch on the right shoulder. You are no longer authorized to wear the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t Tread On Me\u00e2\u20ac\u009d patch.
\nAgain the only patch authorized for wear is the American flag on the right shoulder. Please pass the word to all

After reading the email, I first wondered, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcwhy?\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (Actually, first I headed to the gym to take out my frustration and anger on some unsuspecting weights with the fury and intensity only a former Navy SEAL can exert.) Why would our leaders sell out our heritage? Why would they rob present and future sailors of our battle cry?<\/p>\n

When a friend of mine asked his leadership the same question, he was told, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Jack is too closely associated with radical groups.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d We must assume that this thought policeman embedded in the SEAL community is speaking of the Tea Party, whose flag (which also dates from the American Revolution) depicts a snake with the same defiant slogan as The Navy Jack.<\/p>\n

This begs yet another question: Who defines \u00e2\u20ac\u0153radical group\u00e2\u20ac\u009d? The last time I checked, all military personnel are under oath to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153support and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d The Tea Party stands for constitutional rights and founding principles of civil liberties and limited government. Radical? Not unless you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re a leftist hell-bent on destroying the foundations of our country. Or as the President has stated as the objective of his presidency, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153to fundamentally transform\u00e2\u20ac\u009d America…more<\/a><\/p>\n
