Alan Simpson<\/a>, a Republican, to lead a deficit-reduction committee.<\/p>\n<p>Their report has popped up in every deficit discussion since then, but had never gotten a vote in either chamber until this week, when opponents prevailed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153This doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t go big.
