I think It’s about time for someone to tell the Obama’s to start paying for their own vacations. I get it Barry is entitled to some time off fine whatever but for Michelle to go here and there outside of the US by herself or with the girls on our dime is unacceptable. Her trips are not government, humanitarian or diplomatically related. She is jet setting around the world on the taxpayers back while this country is on fire.<\/p>\n

Hey DC you are preaching to cut spending why don’t one of you get a set<\/em> and come up with a bill that politicians spouses travel unrelated to government\/ state activity outside the US must be paid by them and not the taxpayers? Let’s see who has the biggest set<\/em> to even propose such a bill. I’d love to see how the left will fight it and try to justify Michelle needs to go to Spain or wherever else the Obama’s like to vacation.<\/p>\n

For those who will lay in about the vacations Bush took I have news for you they were all in the US. Most of the time they were in Crawford TX. They weren’t flying around the world to Spain, Indonesia or even going to Hawaii!

Michelle Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Spain trip cost taxpayers $467k<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\"\"It cost taxpayers nearly a half-million dollars for first lady Michelle Obama to travel to Spain in 2010, according to an analysis by Judicial Watch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The right-leaning watchdog group estimated that the trip cost $467,585. It based its analysis on documents obtained from the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Air Force.<\/p>\n

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said it took his group \u00e2\u20ac\u0153two years and a lawsuit to get these documents out of the Obama administration.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It is hypocritical for President Obama to fire GSA officials for wasteful conference spending, while his family went on a luxury vacation in the Costa del Sol Spain that cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Fitton said.<\/p>\n

Among the various travel costs, the group estimated \u00e2\u20ac\u201d using the Defense Department\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 2010 published hourly rates \u00e2\u20ac\u201d that it cost the government $199,323 to fly to Spain and back to the United States.<\/p>\n

The New York Times reported<\/a> that those on the trip included the first lady, one of her daughters and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153two friends and four of their daughters, as well as a couple of aides and a couple of advance staff members.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

Fitton\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s group has previously disclosed the cost of sending the first family on overseas trips. Its analysis indicated that it cost $424,142 to fly the first family to South Africa and Botswana in 2011.<\/p>\n
