#15 Corporate Squeeze
Who is behind crooked politicians? Who will bank roll Pres Obama’s est. $500 million+ 2012 election campaign? Who backs unions, biased television networks & their news divisions (print & media)? Conglomerates like GE, big banks like Goldman Sachs and the like aka big corporations that’s who.
Like anything there are good guys and bad guys in politics, so the rule applies to big corporations or any large organization who makes money and then funnels it out to politicians, media, smaller political movement organizations like those for example George Soros backs.; organizations like those in The Alphabet Organized Crime Family.
There is no guarantee but this tactic can at the least give the people a fighting chance to send a message to questionable corporations/ organizations. There are so many complaining about the corporate power grab yet do nothing about it. Meanwhile corporations and large organizations continue to wheel and deal. They lobby for tax and regulation breaks and favors. They get the breaks while we the people get stuck footing the bill or taking on attacks by those they support, ie media attack on conservatives and TEA Party.
So what can you do about them? Well there are a couple of things, the first thing you can do is what you have been doing to politicians and start protesting outside corporation/ organization headquarters. Let your voice be heard, let them know you know who they are and what they are doing.
A flat out boycott is another option. Now we know many are against this in the US as it jeopardizes American jobs but remember the ongoing question of Saving the Republic… what are you prepared to do? (Not to mention the other part of this sites name The Art Of Political Guerrilla Warfare!)
Yes, American jobs are at risk when a boycott is organized but so is the Republic! Do we sit back while big corporations like GE play god with Americans lives where 20,000 jobs are lost in the US and they created 30,000 over seas? We know they were having dealings with Iran, owned NBC (now a property of COMCAST) who was clearly not reporting news; but where do we draw the line in tolerating corporate interference in our lives for their bottom line? Stop buying their products and services go with a competitor.
Then you have the big bank headaches, do we really need to go there? Stop banking with them! Go local it’s that simple or go with a bank that doesn’t have its hand in the dirty progressive cookie jar.
The biggest threat to any of these corporations is their bottom line, bonus’s & wallet and their jobs! If you go after these things you will get their attention, but many of you are probably reading thinking ‘what can I possibly do to a CEO or head of major corporation or organization?’ Well first off you had no problem going after politicians, it’s the same thing.
As far as corporations are concerned the next thing you can do is become a stockholder, if they are publicly traded. You have voting rights as a stockholder, you can vote for board members, dividends increases/decreases whatever the company chooses to put to a vote through stockholders. In other words you can vote out those making decisions that are “anti-American” within a company as you did to those in DC.
Now some of you are thinking ‘oh great my 10 or 100-share holding isn’t going to have much pull at the next meeting’. You are right but what if every member of the TEA Party got together and organize a stock purchase of a company where those few here and there are equal to the holdings of those in power? Granted it’s a 1000, 100,00 even a million people now new stockholders holding just a few shares against a few super rich but you all combined have just as much voting power and share the same idea!! That idea could be removal of the Chairman and Board of Directors!
Yes there are millions of shares in play for some companies and a few hold large numbers of those shares but remember each share is equal to one vote. Could be one person holding a million (or whatever number) shares or a million people, sharing the same idea, holding a few shares voting with the same amount of power as that one super rich stockholder. You may actually find that if such a tactic was organized all the new stockholders with the same idea outnumber the few super rich with large holdings!
This is key to understand that you as a stockholder are not outnumbered by the super rich. This is why organizing a stock purchase among 100’s even thousands of people is being suggested. Most Americans don’t have couple hundred, thousand (or really sky is the limit) dollars laying around. But do a couple thousand or million people who share the same idea have a few dollars laying around to buy a share or 2? You bet!
STR is about thinking outside the box, this is a clear example; stop thinking two dimensional on the effects of something like a stock purchase to manipulate corporate voting.
Lets take a look at the recent NBC purchase by COMCAST. Its safe to say COMCAST purchased NBC at a discount as their news divisions are getting crushed. Opportunity is seen to restructure and make a profit and go after Fox News’ #1 pedestal. Keith Olbermanns departure and some program changes with some hosts on MSNBC is a clear indicator. There is no way COMCAST purchased NBC properties to lose money and have the lowest ratings. Their goal is to increase shareholder wealth, stock price and dividends. So the shareholders will have a say down the road what happens. Do you honestly believe at the next stockholders meeting someone wont speak up and say “turn MSNBC around it is costing millions in lost revenue do to low ratings or else!” That is the power of the stockholder, management and the board know this. They know they must have a positive return on their investments otherwise they face the wrath of their stockholders.
Now for organizations that don’t have stock offerings it will be a toss up whether or not you can join with voting rights or if they even have a vote for board members, management etc. Lets use the NRA for example though on an organization with voting rights. You pay a fee to be a member and once you are in (Life Member, Benefactor Member, or a basic member for 5 consecutive years) you have voting rights for board members. If you aren’t happy with the direction of those who run the organization it is your right, remember you paid money to be part of the organization, to cast a vote to get new people in to change the direction of the organization.
So in some cases you have to pay a fee to be a member and unfortunately you may have to pay a high fee to have Life Member voting rights vs being member for 5 consecutive years(time we don’t have) to get voting rights, like in the example of the NRA.
A similar argument can be made in how to deal with unions, but its not really the union that is bad it is their management. We must assume that the majority of union members are good hard working Americans on either side of the political fence. If those of you in can convince your fellow members you are being used to advance the agenda of the union heads along with their bank accounts you may have a chance at that next union meeting to vote folks like Trumpka out.
This all comes down to the question repeatedly asked on STR; what are you prepared to do? How far are you willing to go, civil within the rule of law, to affect real change? In some instances, are you prepared to put your money where you mouth is?
You will have to do some investigating but all is not lost. Keep in mind these companies and organizations get donations, donations from possible donors you may be able to join or become a stockholder of. You could go after the donor/ contributor in this type of situation to get to the actual target company/ organization. You may also indirectly reveal supporters of a questionable company/ organization that people were not aware of!
The key of this tactic is to start squeezing corporations/ organizations we all know who have a hand in what’s going on to publicly take a stand. Either they will stop what they are doing or draw that line in the sand and say ‘yea we are with them’. Fine if they are, it makes organizing a boycott a lot easier to sell to the public!
Is the goal of this tactic to get them out of business? NO! It is to get them to stop doing what they are doing. Corporations/ organizations should be neutral but more importantly this is to stop the flow of money to those who are systematically playing a role in destroying America in order to rebuild it in their sick and twisted socialist/marxist/progressive utopian dream!
One last thing, wealthy conservatives this is your chance to step in. STR has been reluctant to put a call to arms to those of you who got rich off of that which is now threatened. Imagine if a group of you got together and commingled your available funds and bought a large block of shares within a company; just a few of you could oust the likes of a Jeffrey Immelt or the like? If you care about your country, your family you will step in hopefully to stop or slow these companies/ organizations down and in the process make yourself a little richer!
