What does the postal service, a NON-law enforcement agency, need with ammo? They cannot balance their books are in the “red” yet have the funds to buy ammo?? They posted the solicitation on Jan 31 and now that it has everyone’s attention the USPS posted and an amendment Fed 5th stating “This is a standard purchase of ammunition to meet the law enforcement needs of the United States Postal Inspection Service and Postal Police.” Normally you could blow this off but based on the governments activity of stockpiling ammunition through all agencies from DHS down to Dept of Education nothing can be trivialized! Let’s also keep in mind the purchases made by DHS were the result of one person, a lunatic, planning a race war!
Regardless I don’t think I have ever heard about Postal Service inspectors or Postal Police being engaged in so much activity they need to stockpile ammunition. What this is, is another indication of the ever-increasing militarization of the US govt at all levels. Far too many agencies are arming up or increasing what they have… WHY?
