I do not know the entire story here other than what is said in the video description and explained at PINAC that there is an issue with a local animal shelter violating health codes where a citizen decided to look into it with camera in tow:
“This is the entire tape of what happened when Mr. Steve Wronko went to investigate problems with the Helmetta Animal Shelter. This video was made by a 13 year old child whose voice is heard at the end of the tape.”
Recording in public, like at an animal shelter, is not a crime, it is protected under the First Amendment; those thinking it is get over it. Anyone calling the cops to “investigate” someone with a camera in a public place is just trying to hide whatever it is they’re up to or are completely paranoid to associate one with a camera to a criminal or even a terrorist. We know some have tried to pull this association as reports have come out time to time of terrorists filming locations. Sorry but filming inside an animal shelter is not on the level of national security, and I highly doubt it is a primary target for Al Qaeda, ISIS, Hamas etc!!
A camera poses no threat it is not a weapon and to treat or suggest someone is a threat as Officer Racine does in this video is absurd. Cops are increasingly looking for reasons to get aggressive & harass anyone “armed” with a camera. The only way this abuse of power will ever end is through very big expensive lawsuits. Obama is setting dangerous precedents that reach all the way down to our local law enforcement agencies, public leaders to even school boards. His disregard for the law is most definitely putting the US in a Constitutional crisis. The concept of MASTER (we the people) and SERVANT (public officials, law enforcement etc) needs to be restored!
