Once upon a time the US military was feared. Now, thanks to obama going around the world multiple times apologizing for our “interference”, his backing down on red-lines drawn and the systematic dismantling of our military to pre-WW2 levels he has in fact embolden our enemies. It doesn’t matter who or what size of said enemies from Russia sending fighters or bombers to do fly-bys against our ships and aircraft, Iran’s fast-boats engaging our ships even taking US sailors prisoner or a bunch of islamic jihadists firing on our ships they do it because they do not fear us.
