You have probably heard by now about Robertson’s comments on homosexuality in a GQ interview that has the net on fire since he is a favorite on A&E’s Duck Dynasty. I don’t care about what he said, or what sexual preferences people have. What I do care about is freedom of speech, and Phil Robertson’s freedom of speech is under attack because some in the gay community took offense. Boo hoo deal with it. You have the right to say and do what you want so does Phil Robertson!
Now a few items I’d like to point out:
1) Phil Robertson probably won’t care that A&E put him on indefinite hiatus.
2) Duck Dynasty is A&E’s cash cow, Phil WILL pull the plug on the show if he is pushed. Correct me if I am wrong but a few months ago when the network conveniently edited out a prayer, Phil said in an interview he would walk if they impose on his/ families religious views?!
3) Since when does a network dictate what someone can say about their personal views in an interview unrelated to the show? Celebrities have said things that always offend someone somewhere. What makes what Phil did any different from anyone else? Does it have to do with the fact he is conservative and has STRONG Christian beliefs?! Is this attack on Robertson just another battle in the ongoing leftist war against religion and Christianity?!
4) Where was GLAAD or other gay rights groups when Alec Baldwin was running his mouth?
Duck Dynasty is about the Duck Commander FAMILY run business… Phil Robertson IS the Duck Commander! Phil is one of the wisest and honorable men you will ever see. He has experienced good and bad times, a very humbled man who has conservative views staying close to his roots, religious beliefs and those values are passed on to his sons and their families. This is a man who Terry Bradshaw was second string to who gave up a career in the NFL because he would rather be “Happy Happy Happy” duck hunting!
A&E should rethink who they are picking a fight with. This show is a juggernaut because Americans LOVE the values we see in this family but especially from Phil! Teens are very influenced by personalities on reality TV. Duck Dynasty is a show for all ages because it is clean and real unlike The Real Housewives of XYZ or other shows that ram sex and questionable content/ behavior down the nations throat as if it is the norm! I cannot tell you how many times I have encouraged my nephews to “listen to uncle Phil”! This is a show I don’t worry kids seeing even with the language being bleeped out! It’s raw, honest and real!
Maybe A&E needs to experience an indefinite hiatus from we the people to understand we don’t approve of their choice siding with special interest groups like The Human Rights Campaign and GLAAD!? Can anyone say boycott A&E?!

‘Duck Dynasty’s’ Phil Robertson on Indefinite Hiatus Following Anti-Gay Remarks

A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ.
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” A&E said in a statement. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview with the magazine. He’ll likely appear in season four, which bows Jan. 15, since production is largely wrapped.
“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” Robertson says in the January issue of the men’s magazine. “That’s just me.
