Fast food, low-income jobs from Dominos to Walmart were never meant and will never be jobs people should be setting their sights on to make a “living wage” let alone raise a family on! These low-income jobs are intended for teens, college students or those who need to additional income to supplement full-time job for whatever reason. It is not the companies duty, responsibility etc to ensure the wages for a low-level position at a company like Dominos or Walmart is similar to a low-level position at a law firm or doctors office! There is this thing called skill level which is being deliberately ignored.
Running a cash register, flipping burgers or stocking the shelves doesn’t require a skill level as one who assists a doctor, does billing or does research for a lawsuit! Saying there is income inequality is an insult to those who pay their dues to get ahead. I’m sorry but just because you chose not to further your education and have a kid or two flipping burgers doesn’t justify the right to get paid as much as someone who doesn’t have kids and spent 2-4 years getting educated for the career field of their choice.
