I understand the logic behind the ruling that you don’t want to have anything in a school that could provoke unrest among students but we are talking about the American flag. Let’s be honest Cinco De Mayo is celebrated by a very small segment of hispanics in America and might I add it is BECAUSE of the American Flag they have the freedom to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the US in the first place! Has anyone touched on how offensive it is to see the mexican flag waved around or worn on tees?! Has anyone pointed out, for the most part, it isn’t those waving the American flag around that start the violence!? No of course not and to even suggest such a thing one will be deemed a racist and a bigot.
The court ruled that schools can ban tees they didnt say anything about bandanas, hats, jackets, temporary tattoos, book covers etc with the American flag! Get the hint?!
We now live in a country where appreciating and celebrating the very symbol of freedom known worldwide is deemed offensive. Is one to assume all schools will not be flying the American flag? I know many classrooms once upon a time had flags in them, will they be removed so as not to offend students? When will we discuss how offensive it is to celebrate a Mexican military victory in the US? Using the logic of the left shouldn’t German Americans have a right to celebrate victories of their homeland? What about Italian Americans? Should we (I am Italian) have the right to celebrate victories and triumphs Italy had not to mention world dominance of the Roman Empire? Point I’m getting to here is once again Americans are being expected to bow down to hispanics… we do it when we call a business having to “Press 1 for English”, being asked if we speak spanish when applying for a job, seeing signage in both English and spanish, feeling the pressure of the political debate over ILLEGAL AMNESTY etc etc.
ENOUGH!!
