Waving the magic imperial pen regardless of the ramifications and precedent it sets! The opponents of the minimum wage hike know ECONOMICS, they have degrees in finance and accounting who have a clue. Simple pay increase affects the bottom line. What is being left out of this argument is skill level. Those making low wages are generally in jobs that dictate/ demand low skilled workers. Those with higher skills make more, that’s how it works for the grown-ups in the world with a clue. This petulant child refuses to address this because he cannot defend his position. He cannot defend why a dishwasher should be making the same wage as a paralegal! In his world they are equal, because it’s all about income equality; he denies the fact that higher pay is a reward for high skills. His majesty wants to destroy capitalism and he has taken yet another step into socialist/ marxism/ communism with this unilateral move which willow put pressure outside of federal workers for wage increase! Companies in the private sector are barely breaking even and will now have pressure to raise wages to match what federal workers (precedent BO set) will get when they cannot afford it.
This is all theatrics and these puppet props don’t have any clue they might get cut from their jobs now if their employer won’t be able afford the pay increase! Basic econ 101 if you don’t have the money to cover higher operating costs (i.e. payroll) someone get’s cut to make up the difference. Will the emperor talk about those who will lose their jobs? No, but he will conjure up workers to justify his cause as he did in this speech.
