Well Jesse Ventura continues to play poor me card not understanding how wrong this defamation suit is against Chris Kyle’s widow will be to his reputation he is trying to protect! People, companies organizations are trashed DAILY but no one is running to the courts. I’ve been attacked and called every name in the book but I’m not going to lawyer up because someone expressed their opinion, invoking their First Amendment right. If Jesse is so concerned about his reputation he might want to reconsider the conspiracy theories he supports.
Ventura shows how delusional he is claiming he is not getting beat up in the court of public opinion. Those Ventura claims are walking up to shake his hand are people who probably believe in his conspiracy theories. He ought to look at Twitter and Facebook posts among countless other social media platforms and see how badly he is being trashed! He is being hammered into the ground for pursuing this lawsuit where the defendant is incapable of defending himself because he is DEAD!
Who does that? What kind of person would pursue a suit against a widow? His reputation is already tarnished for things he has said and done in the past in which some people would deem un-American. He isn’t always Mr Truth either, I can remember him swearing up and down he was the star of Predator! So here’s a question for Mr Pursuit of the Truth; how come it’s a crime for Kyle to say what he said but it’s okay for Ventura to make all the claims about 9/11 being an inside job, FEMA camps, lizard people and even conspiracy within his own show?!
Couldn’t it be argued he has defamed and misrepresented people and things to make a buck as he claims Kyle did to make a buck in his book?
As for the money award…. Ventura is adamant that “the jury rendered that decision”. Yes that is true, but in his quest to make like “I didn’t have anything to do with the decision” fact is he left out that he was seeking $5-15 MILLION in damages! So Jesse can try to look like “hey it wasn’t me it was the jury” but fact is he and his attorney(s) wanted MORE!!
The right thing to do at this point is for Jesse to recover his legal fees from the decision and then give the rest back OR donate it to Wounded Warriors Project, Special Operations Warrior Foundation or other charities. That would be the stand up MANLY thing to do since he chose to SUE the WIDOW of a military LEGEND!
