Hank Johnson, aka Mr Guam Might Tip Over, is the last guy who should be making recommendations to grant more power to the Executive Branch (fyi DHS falls under the Executive Branch) to have oversight of elections. This is beyond dangerous because we know how things done with good intentions get perverted and abused. Any question on elections results people will point the finger of blame at the current POTUS seeking re-election or exiting trying to choose their successor. No sorry we don’t need a govt agency incapable of protecting the border, vetting immigrants and refugees to take over the election system. Furthermore, DHS Sec Jeh Johnson admitted there is no credible evidence of a threat to our election system, just a lot of talk. Yes, this nation is under cyberattack daily but maybe the best solution to this threat is to go back to old low-tech election system.
