This is based on current obligations and look forward to the next 50 years. The professor is calling them “off-balance sheet liabilities” it’s safe to assume he is referring to the unfunded liabilities we all have seen from the debt clock.
I disagree with the professor about when to handle this problem, it must be addressed now especially with this corrupt Congress seeking to give amnesty to 11 million who WILL tap Social Security and Medicare that haven’t paid into it. He even warns in 10yrs it will be something to worry about… the same 10 year time horizon we are being warned that the illegal population granted amnesty will increase to 30 million!
The nation is broke we cannot maintain unsustainable entitlement programs.
