Sen Paul made the rounds on Fox and CNN following the emperors weak speech on Syria. Paul expressed the sentiment of many Americans that we know Assad is bad guy but there is no justification to attack Syria since it is not a threat to the US. In both appearances he was clear he felt Assad should face death for what he has done but objected to the emperors plans because they do nothing to change status quo.
Paul was incorrect when he spoke about Syria breaking international law. Syria is not bound to international law pertaining to the use of chemical weapons, they did not sign the treaty!
When speaking with CNN he was correct warning a strike on Assad will only help Al Qaeda. This is the main reason so many are against doing anything over there. We don’t know who used the chemical weapons and have no idea how embedded terror groups are within the rebels.
