Yes this is a California story, so why should you care? The dissenting Judge, Sidney Thomas, thinks you don’t have a right to protect yourself outside your home has been considered by obama for a seat on the Supreme Court!
5-4 SCOTUS rulings in favor of gun rights are nothing to be excited about! If we lose one conservative leaning Justice, while obama is potus and the dems control the Senate, a guy like Thomas could be appointed where all those 5-4 rulings “for” gun rights become “against”! Everyone overlooks Supreme Court appointments with respect to who is and isn’t in the oval office and who controls the Senate, which confirms appointees.
I tried during the last presidential election to appeal to voters planning to sit out stressing how dangerous it would be to leave obama in play as he would be appointing another SCOTUS Justice. He of course is in his second term and now we approach midterm elections to decide the balance of power in the Senate. That said I will again appeal to those planning on sitting out from voting to consider what that means when it comes to SCOTUS appointments. If we have a conservative majority in the Senate the odds of a radical anti-Second Amendment Judge, like Thomas, being appointed is not likely. The dems hold a majority in the Senate Judiciary Committee with radicals like Leahy, Schumer, Durbin and Feinstein having final say. Obama will be gone in two years but those he appoints to SCOTUS stay on for life which means his radical legacy continues long after he is gone!
Keep this all in mind if you’re planning on sitting out another election and big on gun rights. Keep in mind many people are having voter regret from their 2012 pick for potus wishing Romney was president. Don’t make that mistake again when it comes to leaving dems in power in the Senate!
